Dr. Tammie Cason, MTh., Ph.D., D.D.

Founder of A Voice for the Commonwealth.

Tammie has been doing outreach work,  in collaboration with churches and community organizations, for about twenty years. She served or serves as a church leader, Scout leader, elder-care provider, foster-care advocate (C.A.S.A.), and works with dyslexic children. Her experience as a small-business owner, along with her educational and work background, gives her a practical grounding in real-world budgeting, marketing, and prioritizing. But her ministry-work speaks to the fundamental value of the human spirit.

She performed this work with an informal coalition of volunteers, paying expenses out of her own pocket, and incorporated A Voice for the Commonwealth, Inc. as a non-profit organization in 2006. The incorporation was a means of expanding the scope & effectiveness of AVFC.

As Director, Dr. Cason coordinates networking of AVFC with organizations, businesses, governments, and individuals. She oversees acquisition & distribution of assistance to those in need, prioritizes AVFC efforts, and hosts a community affairs program on Public Access television, "Having Coffee with Tammie."
