Most days of every week in the year, AVFC collects surplus food from retail marketers and delivers it to food pantries, groups, and individuals in need. We collect & distribute clothing, furniture, and other items from private donors. And we provide information and education to assist citizens to empower themselves. By doing so, AVFC assists hundreds of struggling families each week. We serve all equally, regardless of age, race, or creed. We cover the Miami Valley, Ohio area: Dayton, Springfield, Middletown, & Hamilton and nearby communities.

Commonwealth = the public good. A state or nation in which supreme power is held by the people.   Voice = the agency through which need or opinion is expressed.

The primary goal of our organization is to act as a conduit through which citizens in need may obtain the necessities of food, clothing, shelter, and the information and education that can lead to empowerment. The secondary goal is to act as an advocate and channel for feedback, telling those in power what is wanted and needed by citizens.
